Richard Paten and stored in Peterborough; occasionally operated on compressed air on a siding near the station; moved to the British Sugar Corporation's factory in Woodston in 1971; operated under steam and officially named City of Peterborough in a ceremony presided over by the Mayor of Peterborough on August 28, 1972; locomotive donated to the city in 1973; leased to and preserved at Nene Valley Railway. Overhauled in the 1980s and returned to steam on June 30, 1986, driven by Prince Edward, a trip that opened the Nene Valley Railway extension from Orton Mere to Peterborough; overhauled again in the 1990s; returned to steam in July 2005.
